Corey Morgan - Choir Conductor

Corey Morgan - Musical Drama
Corey Morgan grew up singing in auditioned choirs and show choirs under the direction of Miss Mary Lynn Luke and Miss Janice Folsom. She also auditioned and played featured roles in numerous plays from 6th grade through 12th grade. Corey attended Shorter University where she studied Marketing and dance and later Valdosta State University. Corey was a featured soloist with Stockbridge First Baptist Church's choir for fifteen years. She, along with her three children, has been teaching Good News Bible Club at Timber Ridge Elementary for four years. She is married to Raymond, and she is mom to Megan, Mitchell, and Molly Morgan.
David Hancock - Strings Conductor
David Hancock came to Atlanta in 1991 as cellist with the Atlanta Chamber Players. During 1993-2008, he was the Principal Cellist of the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, a group committed to programming new "cross-over" works in concert with traditional masterpieces. From 1996-2010 Hancock served as Principal Cellist and Assistant Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Tennessee.
He earned the Master of Music degree in conducting from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Texas. His extensive study of solo and chamber repertoire placed him under the coaching of Lynn Harrell, Claus Adam, Leonard Rose and Samuel Mays. David received a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University, where he studied with Fritz Magg.
Since coming to Atlanta, David frequently performs in the Southeast as soloist, and chamber musician where he also serves as pedagogue, composer and arranger. He recorded as soloist and chamber musician on several CD recordings and has also recorded with Trey Anastasio, Steve Green, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant and others.
In 2005 David founded the Elysium Chamber Orchestra and Chorus and serves as its Artistic Director. He and Carolyn Hancock are the founders of Chamber Music Atlanta.

Janice Work - American Sign Language Teacher
Janice Work was born in Des Moines, Iowa and has lived in Colorado, New Jersey and Pennsylvania before moving to Georgia. She graduated from Lakeside High School, in DeKalb County. Janice has a BA from Queens College in Charlotte, NC and a Masters Degree from Emory University. Having taught Science for 40 years in the Henry County public schools, she retired from teaching
in 2014.
Janice started learning ASL about 42 years ago. She works with the Deaf Ministry at her church, First Baptist Church of Stockbridge. In addition, she volunteers with HHD, Helping Hands for the Deaf. She also teaches ASL at two of the Senior Centers here in Henry County.
She cannot wait to share her love for the deaf community and for ASL with your student.

christa ellington - Pre-Drama Teacher
A participatory class where we will play improv games, do interactive skits, learn Scripture songs, and practice working together and following instructions to accomplish common goals.
If environmental circumstances permit, we will perform in the Spring so that we can all enjoy our progress together to the glory of God.
Jim Scarlett - Guitar/Mandolin Teacher -Private Lessons
Jim Scarlett is our mandolin/guitar instructor. He recognized his love for music at a young age, beginning piano around the age of seven, baritone in 5th grade, banjo in 7th grade, and guitar in high school. He then went on to pursue the mandolin, the Dobro, the bass, and "enough fiddle to get him in trouble". He attended Troy University for music education, North Texas University for music performance and jazz studies, and Middle Tennessee University for music industry, recording. He lived in Nashville for a couple of years and has played in various bands, done studio work, and performed in solo "gigs". He is currently the organist, guitarist, and banjo player for First Baptist Church in Conyers and performs in various shows throughout the year.
